Iowa Newspaper Association Contests
The Linn News earned a pair of awards in the annual Iowa Newspaper Foundation’s Better Newspaper Contest. The awards were handed out at the annual banquet in Des Moines, Feb. 8, 2024
Editor Laura Drummy earned both awards for the paper, taking second place for Best Photographer.
“Very close to first place. Wonderful community images,” the judge said.
She took third place in the Master Columnist category.
“These columns have a nice personal and local touch,” the judge said. “They mix personal opinion and informative reporting effectively. Very good writing and comfortable, inviting tone.”
